Professor Cathal Moran

 

Our team is headed up by Professor Cathal Moran. Cathal is a Specialist Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Professor of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. As a Specialist Knee and Shoulder Practice, Cathal treats athletes and patients of all ages, caring for both sports injury and painful conditions. All of our team members have dedicated our careers to training in this field, with a focus on helping all his patients and athletes return to the best level of function and performance possible.

Our practice office at Blackrock Health – Galway Clinic allows us to provide our full range of consultation, imaging and follow up services locally in the west of Ireland. Working in partnership with the various Blackrock Health clinical sites facilitates the delivery of joint replacement and soft tissue repair procedures whenever they are required.

Our unit aims to facilitate the delivery of a world-class system of linked education, research and clinical care in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine from the School of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin and affiliated units. The Clinical base for the Professor and Chair of the Unit is UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin. The Trinity campus office of the Academic Unit of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is located in the Trinity Sports Centre. At TCD Sports Centre we have a medical suite for the care of athletes and players of TCD.
